I had to travel to Halifax last week for work, thanks to all the twitter tourism boards and amazing tweets, I was able to gather a few places within 30 mins. Shoutout to: @HfxSeaportMrkt @Stuff2doHalifax @VisitNovaScotia @hfxgov @travelguru3211 @greg_otto
I had to work a few overnight legs that night and arrived at 7am the next morning in Halifax. I crashed right after I checked in and took a shower. Unfortunately, I overslept so I did miss the museums I originally wanted to visit (they close at 5pm). I went over to the Farmers Market instead in hopes to grab a few bites but because it's a Friday - definitely not when the party starts - according to the locals.
To my surprise, I found Garrison Brewing Co. (1149 Marginal Rd, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3H 4P7 Canada) which was located right beside the Farmers Market! Garrison Brewing is one of Atlandtic Canada's original microbreweries, producing a wide range of all-natural, award-winning brews. Store hours change throughout the year so it's best to call before going!
When you walk in, you're welcomed with a fine display of their brewing systems.
Spacious area for events and for your own enjoyment. I came on a Friday afternoon so it's nice and quiet, really enjoyed my beer with soft laughters and chit chats going around.
The brewery offers samplers at around $2.20 so you can figure out which is your favourite. I was recommended to try Raspberry Wheat Ale and immediately fell in love.
The prices are extremely reasonable too. A bottle of is $2.20.
You can get a 6-pack mixed any way you want for $12.79.
For a newbie to Garrison Brewery, I already felt like I got overcrowded with favours I can barely keep up with the other fridge. Now that I got time to do more research on them, I realized they not only have the Year-Round flavours, they also have Seasonal, Specialities,
I started making my own wish list to try next time I'm there:
SUGAR MOON MAPLE
15TH ANNIVERSARY HOPS, MANGO & GINGER ALE (2nd release later this year!)
