Let's start by saying that initially I wanted Belle de Jour but the store I was at, they were sold out on that color so I opted for this colour instead. They are both very very similar but since I don't own Belle de Jour I cant do a comparison swatch =(

As much as I want to start reviewing the packaging and the product itself, its hard to not mention the price first. Purchasing a NARS lipstick is definitely during my "very impulsive" moments. It retails for $30 CAD plus tax at Sephora and it's almost the price of a YSL lipstick retailing at $34 CAD at Holt Renfrew. For me, I debated about two weeks whether or not to get the YSL lipstick because it was quite expensive and yes, for NARS I wasn't thinking logically clearly.

For the packaging, the lipstick comes in a paper box with more cardboard inside. The packaging of the lipstick itself is the same material as the NARS blushes and eyeshadows. It will get ugly, messy and collect dust. Since I reside in dry climates, my lipstick isn't in bad condition just yet. By accident, I did scratch the surface of the packaging with my nails and it came off a bit, which upsets me. (YSL's packaging is like foul-proof and almost the same price!)

The lipstick itself is a creme color with no shimmers or metallics or sparkles. I was looking for a nude/coral undertone lipstick and this was perfect for me. Usually it's difficult for my skintone to go with light nude coral colors because I'm pale with yellow/cool undertoned. Whereas, if you have warm undertones, it's easier for you to pull off coral based colours. I had so many fail lipsticks in this category that I really need to blog sale. ps, i hate the color descriptions on their website. I don't think it tells me anything.

The texture is creamy and smooth to glide on if you have lip balm on. When apply to naked lips, the first stroke is a little hard but it then melts by the time you stroke it a few times. Although it's creamy, after two hours, it's a tiny bit drying and I would reapply along with a lip balm. Actually, I noticed that I need to reapply often and it's not as long-lasting as claimed. I applied almost every 1.5 hours but luckily there's no obvious feathering. I think I always need to reapply because it is afterall a nude color so when it fades, I feel like the peachy tone is gone and there's not much left on my lips. May be an illusion.

Overall, I really like this lipstick. I love the color and I love how this lipstick is effortless for me to pull off. I also liked that it's not overly drying. I didn't like the price though and for that price, I might opt for a YSL because the packaging is so much nicer and their lipsticks are so much creamier!

Overall: ♥♥♥
Product: 4/5 ♥ Not very longlasting for me and I need to reapply frequently
Packaging: 3/5 ♥ Very plain, may get dirty if in humid climates. For this price, I expect better packaging.
Price: 2/5 ♥ Overpriced. YSL is at $34 CAD and MAC is at $17.50 CAD for 0.10oz
