REVIEW: KAO Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment

Hello Everyone! I stalled too long for this review post and I'm really sorry!! I recently saw on KAO SG Website that their new packaging is going to launch in April 2011. That's when I knew, I really really had to post this review before it becomes super outdated =P Note: This is a REALLY long review, more to the reason why I took so long =P

This is my Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Collection. It was hauled back in this post, when my boyfriend was in Hong Kong at the time. At the time, I believe the Anti-Frizz Serums weren't launched just yet. I really wish I had those because it seemed to have great reviews :)

Before I get started, there are 2 variants in the Essential range, you can choose your own to suit your needs.

1) Nuance Airy – Transforms limp and flat hair, making it light and bouncy

2) Rich Premier – Makes untameable hair smooth and manageable.

I chose Nuance Airy for my hair because I constantly bleached it blonde and also used many hot styling tools. I wanted it to be healthy, bouncy and fresh again :)

Review:
The main reason why I like this shampoo is because it is suggested for daily usage in which I'm a fan of. For no particular reason, I simply enjoy washing my hair everyday or every other day. Most shampoo dries out my hair as it strips down my natural hair oils, making my hair coarse. This shampoo cleanse effectively yet leaves my hair soft and airy. You can really tell at the step when you rinse out the shampoo and squeezed out the hair. Of course, don't expect silky hair at that point but compared to my other shampoo experience, it was a lot softer! It also has a wonderful smell (fruity floral)! I also liked that it is priced at an affordable price range so it won't hurt if it isn't very effective for you. Personally, I don't mind purchasing again however, I do want to try other Japanese shampoo as this item didn't make a 180 degree difference for me. Great to have, but I can live without.

Review:
Although it has been highly raved that the conditioner is super awesome. I only found it so-so. It has minimal changes to make my hair soft and silky. I did notice a little less fall outs and that it has been nice to my damages on my last 15cm but I expected a lot more still. Eventually I began to use more of the product without even realizing and finished the conditioner much quicker than the shampoo. (At that point, I still had a half bottle full of shampoo left.) I also didn't find that it has repaired my hair making it "bouncy", at least, it didn't make my hair flat. My hair still was frizzy though.

Note: I think this is alright for summertime, but during the winter season my scalp became extremely dry and flaky. This conditioner does nothing for that and I had to switch conditioners immediately. I'm not entirely sure if others will experience the same. I do believe results will vary depending on your hair type and weather conditions.

Review:
I was more satisfied with this product than the conditioner. It contains two times more of the "High Purity Honey and Milk Protein" making the texture thicker and more nourishing than the conditioner. As I mentioned before, since I finished the bottle of the conditioner way faster than expected, I started using the treatment as my conditioner and I managed to achieve better results than the conditioner alone especially during the summertime. It made my hair a lot softer and silkier and I did see some improvement to my last 15cm of hair.

Note: I think this is alright for summertime, but during the winter season my scalp became extremely dry and flaky. The treatment, similar to the conditioner, didn't preform as expected. I'm not entirely sure if others will experience the same. I do believe results will vary depending on your hair type and weather conditions.

I'm going to post the review for the Mask separately because:
1) this is already a super long review
and
2) I have lots to say about it! =)
Stay tuned!
